Room was huge, but a little bit noisy with the trams going right past the window (room 102), but it never really bothered us. We enjoyed our stay, lovely, friendly staff and it was very clean. The breakfast was great with alot to choose from. At the moment there is alot of work going on outside the hotel, with work on the canal and other buildings, so it doesn't look great (I'm sure it will be lovely when done), but if you can look past that, it really is a lovely place to stay. Great for getting around the city with the trams stopping just outside. I would stay again and can recommend it. xxxxx

Honestly, I probably would have given Dikker & Thijs 3.5 stars if that was on option. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city on the lovely Prinsengracht, and steps away from a tram stop. Five stars for the location. The room was clean, but rather spartan and somewhat dated. The bathroom was typically Amsterdam sized and could also use a refurbishment. Three stars for the room. The front desk staff was somewhat aloof and check-in was slow. Additionally, you have to leave your key at the front desk when you depart the hotel, so, when you return, you may have to wait to retrieve your key before you can head to your room. Three stars for the service.

The hotel was in a fab location , it was clean and tidy with a gorgeous comfy bed!! The breakfast was amazing and the staff in the restaurant were so lovely!!Would highly recommend staying here!! We would return just for the breakfast!!

While the location is great, our 3 night stay was far from good. We didn’t sleep for 3 nights as we could hear everything happening in the bathroom and room of the neighbouring room (I will omit the details). There is zero soundproofing in the hotel, so despite the room being of a reasonable size, expect to hear everything. After advising staff of this, nothing was done to rectify or compensate for this extremely disappointing experience.

The hotel is in a prime location and within walking distance of both the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum. Restaurants in easy walking distance. Some of the charm of the location is lost by the work going on in the canal now. Breakfast was wonderful!
